Importing and creating Tool Holders
Toolholders - an often overlooked part of setting up a machining job, but one that's at the heart of making sure that your operations are planned and executed accurately. Let's dive in to working out how to set them up!

In this course video, we're going to be talking about how to add and use your own custom toolholding geometry. Toolholders are, of course incredibly important - not only do they keep your cutting tool in the spindle, but they're also critical for determining tool reach, and are a vital aspect of ensuring accurate collision detection in all of your machining operations. There are multiple ways of importing toolholder designs, ranging from a simple import of a 3d model through to using dimensions sourced online (when you don't have access to the actual object in front of you) to define the toolholder characteristics. By the end of this video, we'll have demystified the process for you.
