8. Part Turnover And Facing

In this final lesson, you will complete the project: flip the part, machine the bottom side, add the last contours, and prepare the G-code for running on the machine.

You will learn how to:

  • work with Setup Stages β€” how to create a second setup, flip the part, and retain all coordinate data;
  • precisely position the part after flipping using manual transformations along the Z-axis and a 180Β° rotation around the Y-axis;
  • create arcs in Model Space to selectively machine only corners without affecting the entire contour;
  • configure a 2D contour operation with compensation, arc entry/exit, and correct machining side;
  • perform Face Milling on the backside of the workpiece to the final thickness;
  • run post-processing by selecting the post-processor (in this case, FANUC 30i mill) and saving the G-code;
  • check the generated G-code using the built-in G-code simulator, comparing the visual toolpath with the actual control commands.

This lesson consolidates all previously learned material into a practical finale and shows how to bring a project to production with complete trajectory and code verification.
