4. Roughing Operation Part 2

In this video, you will learn how to create precise and efficient operations for machining geometric features of the part, including the central hole and six radial slots.

You will learn how to:

  • set up hole machining (Hole Pocketing) using an end mill with spiral feed and safe cutting parameters;
  • specify exact machining depth levels (Zmax and Zmin) corresponding to previously defined coordinates;
  • apply 2D contour machining for one of the radial slots, defining the upper and lower levels, and add smooth lead-ins and lead-outs to reduce tool load;
  • manually set the number of passes using the "By count" parameter;
  • organize radial copying (radial array) — duplicate the created contour around the circle, automatically arranging six slots around the central axis;
  • verify the correctness of all operations through simulation.

This lesson demonstrates the power of automation in ENCY and helps transition from individual actions to optimized machining of complex repetitive features.

In the next video, we will work on machining curved slots. See you then!
