2. Facing, OD Roughing, and Grooving
In this lesson, we will set up operations for facing the part, rough and finish turning of the outer diameter, and contour grooving.
You will learn how to:
- define a facing operation with adjusted cutting depth and number of passes;
- configure finishing parameters while leaving stock allowance for later operations;
- create a grooving operation with a restricted machining area using start and end markers;
- optimize roughing by enabling full stock recognition for efficient material removal;
- verify and simulate each operation to ensure accurate results.
This lesson will help you properly organize essential turning operations and prepare the part for threading and drilling.
In the next video, we’ll take a closer look at threading and hole drilling operations.
